You may know us as the publisher of LOST FUTURES, a popular zine about worlds that could have been, should have been, or weren’t. Or you might just know us as people, barely aware of our other lives as publishers. Either way: welcome to the new home of EXIT Press.

Another newsletter platform?

With the death - or at least slow cancellation - of Twitter, we wanted to make sure we could keep in touch with our audience no matter what happened. Over the past few years, we’ve really connected with many of you, bonding over shared experiences as we publish your work, sharing in your wins, hearing about your lives. We don’t want that to disappear because of the machinations of an egotistical billionaire.

Substack lets us keep in contact with you - directly in your inbox, or here on the website - to tell you about our new releases, what’s going on in our lives, and the ups and downs of being a small press. This isn’t just another newsletter platform, though. Substack lets us explore new options for getting compelling art to you and publishing even more first-time artists and writers.

Who are you?

We’re EXIT Press. We’re kieran cutting, Christian Kitson and Eve Michell. We’ve known each other for almost fifteen years and we grew up in a place riddled with saltmarshes and rust. We came to love the same kind of art on chalk banks and green spaces whilst feeling like our small town was stuck in time, never ageing.

We’re interested in the weird and the eerie, the haunted and the lost, the strange and the unexplained, the stuck and the broken, and of course trying to find a way out of this mess. We’re looking for exit signs, and we’re hoping you might help us along the way.

We like building relationships as we publish, and we love publishing first-timers. We want to help your art reach the people who will cherish it, be moved by it, and maybe send you a message saying “that just changed my life”.

Are you in for the journey?
